Stacy: Polling shows Catholic voters forsaking Obama
In a move that can only be called pandering to religious constituencies, President Obama has created a deeply unsettling ad to counter legitimate attacks from the right and the Romney campaign on his attacks on religious freedom and the Catholic Church.
In recent polling of Catholic voters President Obama has seen a precipitous drop in his support. This is due in no small part to the widening chasm between his unwavering support of the abortion industry to the HHS contraception mandate issued against all employers. The intransigence of the Obama Administration towards the pleas for exemptions from the mandate from Catholic employers drew a clear delineation between the Romney platform and the presidents.
The pro-life group added: “American Life League speculates that such a dramatic shift may be caused by Obama’s HHS mandates and ensuing legal battle over religious freedom, as 73 percent of Catholics polled believe that the mandates violate their religious freedom.”
In the ad, President Obama appears a bit weary, yet spends a full two minutes and 58 seconds extolling the virtues of faith, even going so far as to show photo after photo of himself surrounded by staff, church goers and even on the campaign trail head bowed in prayer. This would be so authentic and impactful, if he wasn’t constantly in the company of Cecile Richards, the CEO of Planned Parenthood. It’s a messy business that pro abortion stuff…
This empty bit of fluff isn’t going to change the minds of Catholic Americans that have seen the president’s true colors in his dealings with them through his unconstitutional mandates on their Church.
