Lynn: Romney Earns Applause At The Emmys

Did you watch the Emmys last night?  I did.  Even though I don’t watch 90% of the shows that were nominated — “Modern Family,” “Homeland,” “Breaking Bad” and “Two And A Half Men,” to name a few top winners — mostly because I don’t have HBO (Or do I? You know, I’ve never checked.), I’ll admit, I tuned in for two reasons:

One, I wanted  to check out what all the actresses were wearing.  Hey, I may not align with the political leanings of Hollywood liberals, but they sure know how to dress, don’t they? Secondly — and most importantly — I wanted to witness firsthand all the Romney bashing.  I knew it would be served up in hefty doses this close to the election . . . or so I thought.

What I wasn’t expecting was the surprising show of support for Mitt Romney at the Emmys.  Did you hear it?  A very cocky Jimmy Kimmel asked the audience how many people were going to vote for Mitt Romney, fully expecting to hear boos and hisses, I think.  And instead, Romney had some supporters in that Hollywood crowd!  I’m not an applause meter, but I would venture to guess that about 30-40% of the crowd applauded for him. Kimmel looked a little off his game at that point.

Listen for yourself — at about 1:17 into the clip – and tell me what percentage of the audience you think was applauding:

There’ s hope for this election yet!
